Kiyomizu Kannon-Do Shrine

This shrine was beautiful, I liked following the ritual of washing my hands and mouth in the communal pool before entering. Inside it was lovely, but no photos allowed. Outside, people rang the gong with the long rope and prayed, and tied paper prayers to strings in the courtyard or hung wooden prayer plaques on the rack. The wooden ones plinked together softly in the wind, it was eerie and beautiful.
